Nehéz indulás, diadalmas zárás // Start dificil, final triumfător // Tough start, triumphant finish

Kosárlabdázóink számára véget a szezon, egy olyan idény, amelyre joggal lehetünk büszkék. A 2024–2025-ös idény elején azonban kevesen hittek ebben a csapatban, és csak kevesen gondolták volna, hogy együttesünk idén visszajut a csúcsra: visszahódítja a Román Kupát, valamint a bajnoki címet is. A csapat azonban bebizonyította, hogy kemény munkával és alázattal bármi lehetséges.

A lányok a Román Kupa négyes döntőjében a Târgoviște elleni győzelemmel hódították el a trófeát, miután a döntőben 64–43 arányban múlták felül ellenfelüket.
A bajnoki fináléban szintén a Dâmbovița megyei együttessel csapott össze csapatunk. A párharc egészen az ötödik mérkőzésig húzódott, a bajnoki arany sorsa pedig végül ott dőlt el a javunkra, és megszereztük fennállásunk nyolcadik bajnoki címét.

Amilyen szépen zárult, olyan nehezen indult a szezon. Vezetőedzőnk, Zoran Mikes, aki már 12 éve irányítja csapatunkat, is hasonlóan vélekedett: “ Először is, nem csak néhányan, valószínűleg senki sem hitt bennünk. A csapat nagyon későn állt össze, a felkészülés is később kezdődött, mint a korábbi években, de a rövid idő alatt kidolgozott terv, az esélytelen szerep és a kevesebb bajnoki mérkőzés adott nekünk egy kis mozgásteret, hogy megtaláljuk a ritmust, és olyan játékot alakítsunk ki, ami nekünk fekszik. A mi feladatunk az volt, hogy keményen dolgozzunk, jó légkört teremtsünk, és kizárjunk minden külső zajt. Tudat alatt—még ha soha nem is beszéltünk erről egymás között—bizonyos dac is kialakult bennünk a csapat iránti érdektelenség miatt. És elhiheti mindenki, hogy sosem volt könnyebb motiválni a csapatot, hogy bebizonyítsuk nem szabad minket leírni. Pedig mindenki ezt tette, még mielőtt egyáltalán összeállt volna a csapatunk.
Az Európa Kupában 0–3-mal kezdtünk, de akár 3–0 is lehetett volna. Két idegenbeli meccset hosszabbítás után veszítettünk el, és remekül játszottunk hazai pályán a spanyol, IDK Euskotren csapata ellen. Akkor kezdtünk igazán hinni abban, hogy képesek vagyunk versenyezni. Napról napra jobban megismertük a saját magunkat, és egyre erősebbé váltunk. Védekezésben okosak voltunk, és tudtuk, mit akarunk csinálni. Támadásban pedig igyekeztünk minden játékosnak önbizalmat adni. Mivel senki sem számolt velünk komolyan, talán nagyobb szabadságunk volt elfogadni a hibákat, és továbblépni. Ezzel párhuzamosan megszilárdítottuk a pozíciónkat a bajnokságban, miután legyőztük a nagyon erős Târgoviște csapatát hazai pályán, mindezt két nappal egy kemény IDK Euskotren elleni mérkőzés után, majd idegenben nyertünk Arad ellen is, két nappal azután, hogy hosszabbításos vereséget szenvedtünk Belgrádban, a Zvezda ellen. A lányok elkötelezettek voltak a fejlődés iránt. Ugyanazt a szenvedélyt éreztük, és ők inspiráltak engem is, hogy még jobban motiváljam őket. Talán az együttműködés volt a kulcs ahhoz, hogy olyan csapatot hozzunk létre, amely sosem adta fel, és mindig képes volt újra talpra állni, különösen az idény utolsó három hónapjában.”

Az Aradon megrendezett Román Kupa négyes döntője előtt csapatunkat tartották a legesélytelenebbnek a trófea megnyerésére. Míg más csapatok új játékosokat igazoltak, hogy megerősítsék keretüket, nálunk két kulcsjátékos sérülés miatt kiesett. Ennek ellenére csapatunk rövid cserepaddal vágott neki a Final Fournak.

Vezetőedzőnk is elmondta a felkészülés és a játékosok elvesztésének nehézségeit, valamint hogy hogyan sikerült végigvinni a Román Kupa felkészülési stratégiáját: “A kupa egy különleges fejezet volt. A Final Four előtt két játékosunk is megsérült a román válogatott februári EB-selejtezőinek mérkőzésein, így őket elveszítettük a folytatásra. Már a válogatott szünet alatt elkezdtük a felkészülést a kupára. Az utolsó két bajnoki mérkőzésünk a Final Four előtt a Konstanca és a Brassó ellen zajlott. Az volt a célunk, hogy felkészülten tudjunk két intenzív meccset játszani két egymást követő napon, március elején. Közvetlenül a bajnokság folytatása előtt derült ki, hogy a Konstanca szinte teljesen új csapatot épített, több külföldi játékossal. Az új keretük erősnek tűnt, és látszott rajtuk az ambíció, hogy mindkét sorozatot meg akarják nyerni. Mi úgy döntöttünk, hogy nem szakítjuk meg a felkészülést csak azért, hogy jobban szerepeljünk a bajnokságban. Ehelyett arra koncentráltunk, hogy teljesen készen álljunk a kupadöntő hétvégére. Tudtuk, hogy úgyis a Konstanca lesz az ellenfelünk az elődöntőben, ezért a bajnoki meccs inkább a karakterről szólt, mint a győzelemről. Már bebiztosítottuk a top két helyet az alapszakaszban, így a prioritás egyértelműen a kupa volt. Ez a stratégia abszolút kifizetődött. Két héttel később óriási meglepetést okozva legyőztük a Konstancát az elődöntőben. Talán a bajnoki győzelmük után lebecsültek minket, mi pedig ezt tökéletesen kihasználtuk. A döntő a Târgoviște ellen talán az idény legjobb meccse volt – fizikálisan, mentálisan és taktikailag is. Tökéletesen végrehajtottuk a megbeszélt játéktervet. Véleményem szerint teljes mértékben megérdemelten nyertük meg a Román Kupát ezzel a két hatalmas győzelemmel. Ezek a sikerek magabiztosságot adtak a szezon hátralévő részére, és igazán elkezdtük elhinni, hogy bárkit le tudunk győzni – még úgy is, hogy a két román válogatott játékosunk, mint később kiderült, a szezon végéig kiesett.”

Az idény vége sem volt könnyű a csapat számára, mivel a csapat kapitánya, Gereben Lívia is fájdalmakkal játszott több mérkőzésen. A döntő első mérkőzésén azonban a sérülése súlyosabbá vált, és így nem tudott tovább játszani.

“Őszintén szólva, csak csodálni tudom a lányokat, akik a döntő mérkőzéseken a teljesítőképességük határáig elmentek. Livi sérülten játszott, és több más játékosnak is voltak problémái, de igyekeztünk ezeket minél jobban elrejteni. Azt kell mondjam, Livi feláldozta magát a csapatért. Fájdalmakkal küzdve lépett pályára, és mivel a kupa előtt elveszítettünk két kulcsjátékost, erősítés nélkül vágtunk neki a döntőnek – talán most vállalta a legnagyobb kockázatot pályafutása során.
Az Arad elleni elődöntős párharc rendkívül megterhelő volt fizikailag, de Livi segített bejutni a döntőbe – és óriási szerepe volt abban, hogy megszereztük a bajnoki címet. Ha egészséges marad, talán hamarabb lezárhattuk volna a döntőt, de így, hogy nehezebb úton jutottunk el a végéig, talán még édesebb az eredmény – még ha egy kis keserű íz is maradt benne a sérülése miatt.
Minden egyes játékos több mint 100%-ot nyújtott. Sérülések és fáradtság ellenére is játszottak, és minden elismerést megérdemelnek – igazi hősként kell tekinteni rájuk. Ne felejtsük el, hogy mi eggyel több mérkőzést játszottunk a rájátszásban, mint a Târgoviște, amely 2–0-val jutott tovább a Rapid ellen. Ez több pihenőt és felkészülési időt jelentett számukra a döntőre. De ahogy egész évben tettük – amikor mindenki kételkedett bennünk – mindig megtaláltuk a módját, hogy erősebben térjünk vissza.
Sokan beszéltek a szűk rotációnkról, de hatalmas elismerés jár a négy fiatal játékosunknak. Még középiskolások, de jól kezelték a perceiket, és tényleg felnőttek ehhez a szinthez. Megnyerték a bizalmunkat, és kulcspillanatokban is segítették a csapatot. Remélem, a lehető legtöbbet kihozzák ebből a tapasztalatból, és a következő években tovább fejlődnek.
A mi csapatunk volt a legfiatalabb az élvonal első öt helyezettje közül, és ez még különlegesebbé teszi ezt az eredményt. Ennyi nehézség mellett bajnokságot nyerni valóságos csoda, és ez a trófea mindig különleges helyet foglal majd el a szívemben.
Gratulálok a stáb minden tagjának a kemény munkáért, az elkötelezettségért és a profizmusért. Őszinte köszönet mindannyiuknak az erőfeszítésért és a szenvedélyért, amit ebbe az idénybe beletettek. Köszönöm, hogy szerények maradtatok, és a háttérben dolgoztatok akkor is, amikor kevesen értették, mennyire fontos volt mindegyikőtök munkája. Minden elismerés megillet benneteket – nemcsak ezért az évért, hanem mindazért, amit évről évre hozzáadtok a közös sikerekhez.”  – értékelte a szezon zárását és az egész szakmai stáb valamint játékosai teljesítményét Zoran Mikes.

A győzelmekig vezető út rögös volt, de a lányok és az egész stáb megmutatták, hogy nem érdemes leírni ezt a csapatot és ezt a klubot. Reméljük, hogy a lányok bebizonyították szurkolóinknak, valamint minden sportkedvelőnek, hogy érdemes kosárlabda-mérkőzésekre járni és szurkolni ennek a klubnak, mert a csapat és a klub mindig meghálálja a beléjük fektetett bizalmat.

Pentru baschetbalistele noastre s-a încheiat un sezon de care putem fi pe bună dreptate mândri. La începutul stagiunii 2024–2025, puțini credeau în această echipă și puțini s-ar fi gândit că vom reveni în vârf: recâștigând atât Cupa României, cât și titlul de campioană națională. Însă echipa a demonstrat că, prin muncă și modestie, orice este posibil.

Fetele noastre au cucerit Cupa României în cadrul turneului Final Four, învingând echipa din Târgoviște în finală, cu scorul de 64–43.

În finala campionatului, adversara noastră a fost din nou formația din județul Dâmbovița. Seria a ajuns până în meciul decisiv, al cincilea, iar titlul național a fost tranșat în favoarea noastră. Astfel, am obținut al optulea titlu de campioană din istoria clubului.

Așa cum s-a încheiat frumos, la fel de greu a început acest sezon. Antrenorul nostru principal, Zoran Mikes, aflat la cârma echipei de 12 ani, a împărtășit un punct de vedere similar:
„În primul rând, nu doar câțiva, probabil nimeni nu a crezut în noi. Echipa s-a format foarte târziu, pregătirea a început mai târziu decât în anii anteriori, dar în acel timp scurt am reușit să punem la punct un plan, iar rolul de outsider și numărul mai redus de meciuri în campionat ne-au oferit o anumită marjă de manevră pentru a ne găsi ritmul și a construi un joc care să ni se potrivească.
Sarcina noastră a fost să muncim din greu, să creăm o atmosferă bună și să excludem tot zgomotul din exterior. La un nivel subconștient – deși nu am discutat niciodată direct între noi despre asta – s-a născut în noi o formă de revoltă din cauza lipsei de interes față de echipă. Și oricine mă poate crede: niciodată nu a fost mai ușor să motivez echipa, să demonstrăm că nu trebuie să fim subestimați. De fapt, toată lumea ne-a ignorat, chiar înainte ca echipa să fie complet formată.

Am început cu 0–3 în EuroCup, dar ar fi putut la fel de bine să fie 3–0. Am pierdut două meciuri în deplasare după prelungiri și am jucat excelent acasă împotriva echipei spaniole IDK Euskotren. Acolo a fost momentul în care am început cu adevărat să credem că suntem capabili să concurăm.
Cu fiecare zi ne cunoșteam mai bine, deveneam mai puternici. În apărare am fost inteligenți și știam ce vrem să facem. În atac, am încercat să oferim fiecărei jucătoare încredere în sine. Poate tocmai pentru că nimeni nu ne lua în serios, am avut mai multă libertate să acceptăm greșelile și să mergem mai departe.

În același timp, ne-am consolidat poziția în campionat după ce am învins acasă puternica echipă din Târgoviște, la doar două zile după un meci solicitant împotriva IDK Euskotren, apoi am câștigat în deplasare la Arad, la două zile după o înfrângere în prelungiri, la Belgrad, împotriva celor de la Crvena Zvezda. Fetele au fost dedicate dezvoltării.
Am simțit aceeași pasiune, iar ele m-au inspirat și pe mine să le motivez și mai mult. Poate tocmai colaborarea a fost cheia pentru a forma o echipă care nu a renunțat niciodată și care a fost capabilă să se ridice din nou, de fiecare dată — mai ales în ultimele trei luni ale sezonului.”

Înainte de turneul final al Cupei României organizat la Arad, echipa noastră era considerată cea mai puțin favorită la câștigarea trofeului. În timp ce alte echipe au transferat jucătoare noi pentru a-și întări lotul, noi am pierdut două jucătoare de bază din cauza accidentărilor. Cu toate acestea, echipa noastră a abordat Final Four-ul cu o rotație scurtă. Antrenorul nostru principal a vorbit despre dificultățile pregătirii și pierderea jucătoarelor, dar și despre cum am reușit să ducem la capăt strategia de pregătire pentru Cupa României:

„Cupa a fost un capitol aparte. Înainte de Final Four, două dintre jucătoarele noastre s-au accidentat în meciurile de calificare la EuroBasket, disputate în februarie, alături de echipa națională a României, și nu le-am mai avut la dispoziție pentru restul sezonului. Am început pregătirea pentru Cupă încă din timpul pauzei dedicate echipelor naționale. Ultimele două meciuri din campionat înainte de Final Four au fost împotriva Constanței și Brașovului. Scopul nostru a fost să ne pregătim să putem juca două meciuri intense în două zile consecutive, la început de martie. Chiar înainte de reluarea campionatului, am aflat că Constanța și-a reconstruit aproape complet echipa, aducând mai multe jucătoare străine. Noul lor lot părea puternic, iar ambiția lor de a câștiga ambele competiții era evidentă.

Noi am decis să nu întrerupem pregătirea doar ca să arătăm mai bine în campionat. Ne-am concentrat în schimb pe a fi pe deplin pregătiți pentru weekendul Cupei. Știam că oricum Constanța va fi adversarul nostru în semifinală, așa că meciul din campionat a fost mai mult un test de caracter decât o luptă pentru victorie. Ne asigurasem deja locul doi în sezonul regulat, astfel că prioritatea noastră clară a fost Cupa. Această strategie a dat roade pe deplin. Două săptămâni mai târziu, am produs o mare surpriză învingând Constanța în semifinală. Poate că, după victoria lor din campionat, ne-au subestimat, iar noi am știut să profităm de acest lucru perfect. Finala cu Târgoviște a fost poate cel mai bun meci al sezonului – din punct de vedere fizic, mental și tactic. Am executat perfect planul de joc stabilit. În opinia mea, am câștigat pe deplin meritat Cupa României, cu aceste două victorii extraordinare. Aceste succese ne-au dat încredere pentru restul sezonului și ne-au făcut cu adevărat să credem că putem învinge pe oricine – chiar și fără cele două jucătoare din echipa națională a României, care, așa cum s-a confirmat ulterior, nu au mai putut reveni până la finalul sezonului.”

Finalul de sezon nu a fost deloc ușor pentru echipă, mai ales că și căpitanul formației, Gereben Lívia, a evoluat în mai multe meciuri cu dureri. Însă, în prima partidă a finalei, accidentarea ei s-a agravat, iar de atunci nu a mai putut continua pe teren.

„Sincer, nu pot decât să le admir pe fete, care în meciurile din finală au mers până la limita capacităților lor. Livi a jucat accidentată, iar și alte jucătoare au avut probleme, dar am încercat să ascundem cât mai bine acest lucru. Trebuie să spun că Livi s-a sacrificat pentru echipă. A intrat pe teren în ciuda durerilor și, cum înainte de Cupă am pierdut două jucătoare importante, am început finala fără întăriri – poate că acum și-a asumat cel mai mare risc din cariera sa.

Seria semifinală cu Arad a fost extrem de solicitantă din punct de vedere fizic, dar Livi a fost esențială în accederea în finală – și a avut un rol uriaș în câștigarea titlului. Dacă ar fi fost sănătoasă, poate am fi încheiat mai repede această finală, dar tocmai pentru că am ajuns la capătul drumului pe o cale mai grea, parcă victoria e și mai dulce – chiar dacă a rămas un gust amar din cauza accidentării ei.

Fiecare jucătoare a dat mai mult de 100%. Au jucat în ciuda accidentărilor și oboselii, iar merită toată aprecierea – trebuie să le privim ca pe niște adevărate eroine. Să nu uităm că noi am jucat un meci în plus în playoff față de Târgoviște, care a trecut cu 2–0 de Rapid. Asta a însemnat pentru ele mai mult timp de odihnă și pregătire pentru finală. Dar, așa cum am făcut tot sezonul – când toată lumea se îndoia de noi – am găsit mereu o cale să revenim mai puternici.

S-a vorbit mult despre rotația noastră scurtă, dar cele patru jucătoare tinere merită toată aprecierea. Sunt încă în liceu, dar au gestionat foarte bine minutele pe care le-au primit și chiar au fost la înălțimea acestui nivel. Ne-au câștigat încrederea și au ajutat echipa în momente-cheie. Sper să profite la maximum de această experiență și să continue să evolueze în anii următori.

Echipa noastră a fost cea mai tânără dintre primele cinci clasate din prima ligă, iar acest lucru face ca această realizare să fie și mai specială. Să câștigi campionatul în ciuda atâtor greutăți este o adevărată minune, iar acest trofeu va avea întotdeauna un loc special în inima mea.

Felicitări tuturor membrilor staffului pentru munca lor grea, devotamentul și profesionalismul de care au dat dovadă. Le mulțumesc sincer pentru efortul și pasiunea pe care le-au pus în acest sezon. Vă mulțumesc că ați rămas modești și ați lucrat în spate, chiar și atunci când puțini au înțeles cât de important a fost aportul fiecăruia dintre voi. Meritați toată aprecierea – nu doar pentru acest an, ci pentru tot ce aduceți an de an la succesul comun.” – a declarat Zoran Mikes, evaluând încheierea sezonului și performanța întregului staff și a jucătoarelor.

Drumul spre victorie a fost plin de obstacole, dar fetele și întreaga echipă tehnică au demonstrat că nu trebuie subestimată această echipă și acest club. Sperăm că fetele au reușit să le arate suporterilor și tuturor iubitorilor de sport că merită să vii la meciuri și să susții acest club, pentru că echipa și clubul vor răsplăti întotdeauna încrederea investită în ele.

The season has come to an end for our basketball players – a season we can truly be proud of. At the beginning of the 2024–2025 season, few believed in this team, and even fewer would have predicted that we would return to the top by reclaiming both the Romanian Cup and the national championship title. But the team proved that with hard work and humility, anything is possible.

Our girls won the Romanian Cup at the Final Four tournament, defeating Târgoviște in the final with a score of 64–43.

In the championship finals, we once again faced the team from Dâmbovița County. The series went all the way to the fifth and decisive game, where the title was ultimately secured in our favor – bringing home the eighth national championship in the club’s history.

As beautifully as the season ended, it started just as difficult. Our head coach, Zoran Mikes, who has been leading our team for 12 years, shared a similar opinion: “First of all, not just a few—probably nobody believed in us. The team was created very late, preparations started late, but the plan we managed to create in such a short time, combined with our underdog status and fewer games in the league, gave us the space we needed to find our rhythm and develop a style of play that suited us. Our job was to work hard, create a good atmosphere, and block out all the outside noise.
Unconsciously, even though we never mentioned it among ourselves, a kind of spite started to build up due to the lack of interest in the women’s team. And trust me—it was easier than ever to motivate the team to prove everyone wrong. People had written us off before we had even formed the team.
In the EuroCup, we started 0–3, but we could have easily been 3–0. We lost two games on the road after overtime and played a great game at home against the Spanish team. That’s when we started to believe we could actually compete. We were learning more about our team every day and growing stronger with each step. Defensively, we were smart and knew what we wanted to do. Offensively, we tried to give each player the confidence to contribute. And because nobody really counted on us, we probably had more freedom to accept mistakes and keep moving forward.
At the same time, we earned a solid position in the championship by beating a strong Târgoviște team at home just two days after an intense game against IDK, and then winning away against Arad two days after a double-overtime loss in Belgrade. The girls were committed to getting better every day. We shared the same passion, and they motivated me to push them even more. That synergy between us was maybe the key to creating a team that never gave up and always found the strength to bounce back—especially during the final three months of the season.”

Before the Romanian Cup Final Four held in Arad, our team was considered the least likely to win the trophy. While other teams signed new players to strengthen their rosters, we lost two key players due to injury. Despite this, our team entered the Final Four with a short bench.

Our head coach also spoke about the challenges of preparation and losing players, as well as how the team managed to carry out the Romanian Cup preparation strategy: “The Cup was a special chapter. Before the Final Four, we lost two players to injuries sustained while playing for the Romanian national team during the February window.
We started preparing for the Cup during the FIBA break. Our last two league games were against Constanța and Brașov, and even though they were just two weeks before the Final Four, we decided to play them with heavy legs—because we wanted to be ready to play two intense games in two days in early March.
Just before the league resumed, we found out that Constanța had built an almost entirely new team with several new foreign players. Their roster looked strong and full of ambition to win both competitions.
We chose not to interrupt our preparations just to perform better in the league. Instead, we focused on being fully ready for the Cup Final Four. We knew we’d be facing Constanța in the semifinal anyway, so the league match was more about showing character than winning. We had already secured a top-two position in the standings, so our priority was the Cup.
That strategy absolutely paid off. Two weeks later, we pulled off a big surprise and beat Constanța in the semifinal. Maybe after their league win against us in Sfântu Gheorghe, they underestimated us—and we took full advantage. The final against Târgoviște was probably our best game of the season—physically, mentally, and tactically. We executed the game plan perfectly. In my opinion, we fully deserved to win the Romanian Cup after those two huge victories.
Those wins gave us confidence for the rest of the season, and we truly started to believe we could beat anyone—even without the two Romanian national team players who, as we later found out, would miss the rest of the season.

The end of the season wasn’t easy for the team either, as team captain Lívia Gereben played several games in pain. However, her injury worsened during the first game of the finals, and she was no longer able to continue playing.

Honestly, I can only admire the effort of the girls who managed to play the Finals at the absolute limits of their capabilities.

Livi was injured, and several other players had issues too—but we tried to hide them as much as we could. I have to say, Livi sacrificed herself for the team. She played through significant pain, and since we didn’t get any reinforcements after losing two key players before the Cup, she was probably taking on more risk than ever.

In the semifinal series against Arad, which was extremely physically demanding, Livi helped us qualify for the finals—and her contribution to winning the championship is enormous. With her healthy on the court, I believe we could have closed out the Finals earlier, but doing it the hard way made it even sweeter, though there’s a bit of a bitter taste because of her injury.

Every single player gave more than 100%. They played through injuries and fatigue, and they deserve to be admired and treated like real heroes. We shouldn’t forget that we played one more game in the playoffs than Târgoviște, who defeated Rapid 2–0 in their semifinal. That gave them more time to rest and prepare for the Finals. But, as we did all year—when everyone doubted us—we always found a way to come back stronger.

Everyone talked about our short bench, but I have to give massive credit to our four young players. They’re still in high school, but they managed their minutes very well and really stepped up at this level. They earned our trust and helped the team during crucial moments. I hope they make the most of this experience and continue to grow in the coming years.

Our team was the youngest among the top five in the league, and that makes this result even more incredible. Winning the Championship while going through so many obstacles is nothing short of a miracle, and this trophy will always have a special place in my heart.

Congratulations to the staff for their hard work, commitment, and professionalism. I sincerely thank all of them for the effort and passion we shared. Thank you for being humble, for working behind the scenes when not many understood how important each of you was. You all deserve credit—not just for this year, but for everything you’ve done year after year.” – Zoran Mikes evaluated the end of the season and the performance of the entire coaching staff and his players.

The road to victory was a rough one, but the girls and the entire staff showed that this team and this club should never be counted out. We hope the girls proved to our fans and to all sports enthusiasts that it’s worth attending basketball games and supporting this club, because both the team and the club always repay the trust placed in them.
