Utolsó hazai Euroliga mérkőzését játszotta le csapatunk a 2023-24-es szezonban. A zöld-fehérek ellenfele a tizenharmadik játéknapon a Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding volt, akik már bebiztosították helyüket csoportelsőként a negyeddöntőben. Csapatunk keretében voltak hiányzók, Courtney Range, aki kihagyta a DVTK elleni mérkőzést, a Fener ellen sem lépett pályára, valamint Jovana Pasic is kénytelen volt kihagyni az összecsapást, betegség miatt.

A mérkőzés első tíz percét a törökök dominálták, és 12-20-ra meg is nyerték. A következő negyed szorosabbra sikerült, lányaink nem hagyták magukat a címvédővel szemben és 15-18-ra fejezték be a negyedet. A félidőre azonban így is 11 pontos előnnyel vonultak a Valérie Garnier edzette játékosok (27-38).

A szünet után folyamatosan növelte az előnyét a török csapat, de csapatunk nem hagyta magát, és harcolt a véksőkig. Bár a címvédő győzelemmel távozott a Sepsi Arénából, csapatunknak semmi oka nincs szomorkodni, mivel tisztesen helytálltak velük szemben, és megmutatták, hogy tudnak harcolni. A végeredmény 49-82 lett. Csapatunk kiemelkedő játékosa Borislava Hristova volt, aki 16 pontot dobott a Fenerbahce ellen.

A mérkőzés után csapatkapitányunk, Borislava Hristova nyilatkozott: “Kicsit csalódott vagyok, hogy nem sikerült nyernünk a szurkolóinknak, akik az egész Euroliga szezon alatt mellettünk voltak, és biztos vagyok benne, hogy a továbbiakban is kitartanak a csapat mellett. Fenerbahce a címvédő, és minden mérkőzésükön a legjobb oldalukat mutatják, mi harcoltunk ahogy tudtunk, nekünk sajnos védelemben és támadásban is voltak hibáink, nem tudtunk fontos kosarakat érvényesíteni, de összességében küzdöttünk a végéig. Van még egy utolsó mérkőzésünk, amin megteszünk majd mindent.”

Zoran Mikes is megosztotta a gondolatait: “Érződött a mérkőzésen, hogy hiányoztak játékosaink. 15 mérkőzésünk volt eddig az Euroligában, beleértve a selejtezőket is, egyáltalán nem volt szerencsénk, Paso lebetegedett a tegnapi nap, Katy egy nagy ütést kapott a Kolozsvár elleni mérkőzésen, és Courtney hetek óta hiányzik. Nem könnyű, nincs sok idő edzeni, hogy kijavítsunk a hibáinkat támadásban. Védekezésbe a lányok nagyon nagy energiát tesznek. Valérie Garnier, a Fenerbahce edzője a mérkőzést követően a következőt nyilatkozta: “Egy nehéz mérkőzés volt, mindig nehéz itt Sepsiszentgyörgyön nyerni, de örülök a győzelemnek. Nagyon jó volt a védekezésünk. Már továbbjutottunk, a továbbiakban az a célunk, hogy továbbjussunk a negyeddöntőből is.”

A következő héten csapatunk Lyonba utazik, az utolsó mérkőzésére. Az ellenfél az LDLC ASVEL Feminin lesz, akikkel kedden romániai idő szerint 21 órától játszunk.

Echipa noastră a jucat ultimul său meci acasă din sezonul 2023-24 al Euroligii. Adversara echipelor verzi-albe în cea de-a treisprezecea zi de meci a fost Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding, care și-a asigurat deja locul ca lider de grup în sferturile de finală. Au fost absențe în echipa noastră, cu Courtney Range, care a ratat meciul împotriva DVTK, nefiind prezentă nici împotriva lui Fener, iar Jovana Pasic a trebuit să rateze jocul din cauza unei boli.

Primele zece minute ale meciului au fost dominate de turci, iar aceștia au câștigat cu 12-20. Următorul sfert a fost mai echilibrat; fetele noastre nu s-au lăsat învinse de către campioanele en-titre și au încheiat sfertul cu 15-18. Cu toate acestea, până la pauză, jucătoarele antrenate de Valérie Garnier conduceau în continuare cu 11 puncte (27-38).

După pauză, echipa turcă a continuat să-și mărească avantajul, dar echipa noastră nu s-a dat bătută și a luptat până la final. Desigur că campioanele en-titre au părăsit Arena Sepsi cu o victorie, dar echipa noastră nu are motive să fie tristă, deoarece s-a descurcat bine împotriva lor și a arătat că poate lupta. Scorul final a fost 49-82. Jucătoarea remarcabilă pentru echipa noastră a fost Borislava Hristova, care a marcat 16 puncte împotriva lui Fenerbahce.

După meci, căpitanul echipei noastre, Borislava Hristova, a declarat: “Sunt puțin dezamăgită că nu am reușit să câștigăm pentru suporterii noștri, care au fost alături de noi pe tot parcursul sezonului Euroligii, și sunt sigură că vor continua să susțină echipa în viitor. Fenerbahce este campioana en-titre, și își arată cea mai bună parte în fiecare meci. Am luptat cât am putut de bine, din păcate, am avut greșeli atât în apărare, cât și în atac, nu am putut transforma coșurile cruciale, dar în ansamblu, am luptat până la final. Avem un ultim meci, și vom da tot ce avem.”

Zoran Mikes și-a împărtășit gândurile: “A fost observabil în timpul meciului că ne-au lipsit jucătoarele. Am avut 15 meciuri până acum în Euroligă, inclusiv calificările, și nu am avut niciodată noroc. Paso s-a îmbolnăvit ieri, Katy a primit o lovitură puternică în meciul cu Cluj, iar Courtney lipsește de săptămâni. Nu este ușor, nu avem prea mult timp pentru antrenamente pentru a remedia greșelile noastre ofensive. Fetele au depus mult efort în apărare. În ansamblu, sunt bucuros că campioana en-titre Fenerbahce a venit la Sepsiszentgyörgy, acesta este un lucru mare pentru noi și pentru oraș, le urez mult succes. Nu avem motive să ne simțim rușinați; putem fi mândri că avem o astfel de echipă.”

Valérie Garnier, antrenoarea echipei Fenerbahce, a declarat următoarele după meci: “A fost un meci dificil; este întotdeauna dificil să câștigi aici la Sepsiszentgyörgy, dar sunt fericită cu victoria. Apărarea noastră a fost foarte bună. Ne-am calificat deja, iar obiectivul nostru este să avansăm și din sferturile de finală.”

În timpul meciului, suporterii noștri au arătat încă o dată sprijinul lor și au încurajat fetele. Mulțumim, și așteptăm cu nerăbdare să vedem pe toată lumea la meciurile noastre rămase în acest sezon. Să arătăm că avem cea mai bună echipă și cei mai buni fani!

Săptămâna viitoare, echipa noastră va călători la Lyon pentru ultimul său meci. Adversarul va fi LDLC ASVEL Feminin, iar meciul este programat pentru marți, la ora 21:00, ora României.

Our team played its last home EuroLeague match in the 2023-24 season. The opponent against the green-whites on the thirteenth matchday was Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding, who had already secured their place as group leaders in the quarterfinals. There were absences in our team, with Courtney Range, who missed the match against DVTK, also not playing against Fener, and Jovana Pasic had to miss the game due to illness.

The first ten minutes of the match were dominated by the Turks, and they won 12-20. The next quarter was more balanced; our girls did not let themselves be defeated by the defending champions and finished the quarter 15-18. However, by halftime, the players trained by Valérie Garnier still led by 11 points (27-38).

After the break, the Turkish team continued to increase their lead, but our team did not give up and fought until the end. Although the defending champions left the Sepsi Arena with a victory, our team has no reason to be sad, as they held their own against them and showed that they can fight. The final score was 49-82. The standout player for our team was Borislava Hristova, who scored 16 points against Fenerbahce.

After the match, our team captain, Borislava Hristova, stated: “I am a bit disappointed that we couldn’t win for our fans, who have been with us throughout the entire EuroLeague season, and I am sure they will continue to support the team in the future. Fenerbahce is the defending champion, and they show their best side in every match. We fought the best we could, unfortunately, we had mistakes both in defense and offense, couldn’t convert crucial baskets, but overall, we fought until the end. We have one last match, and we will give our all.”

Zoran Mikes shared his thoughts: “It was noticeable during the match that our players were missing. We have had 15 matches so far in the EuroLeague, including the qualifiers, and we have had no luck at all. Paso fell ill yesterday, Katy took a big hit in the match against Cluj, and Courtney has been missing for weeks. It’s not easy, there is not much time to train to fix our offensive mistakes. The girls put in a lot of energy in defense. Overall, I am glad that the defending champion Fenerbahce came to Sepsiszentgyörgy, this is a big thing for us and the city, I wish them a lot of success. We have no reason to be ashamed; we can be proud to have such a team.”

Valérie Garnier, the coach of Fenerbahce, stated the following after the match: “It was a tough match; it’s always difficult to win here in Sepsiszentgyörgy, but I am happy with the victory. Our defense was very good. We have already advanced, and our goal is to progress from the quarterfinals as well.”
