A veretlen DVTK Miskolc csapatát fogadtuk a válogatott szünet előtti utolsó Euroliga mérkőzésen. A Sepsi Arénába fergeteges hangulatot varázsoltak a szurkolóink.
A mérkőzést a DVTK 8-0 vezetéssel indítottak, amit vezetőedzőnk egy időkéréssel állított le. A timeout-ot követően a zöld-fehér mezesek kezdtek magukra találni, és a beérni a miskolciakat. Jól szállt játékba Chelsea Nelson és Veatriki Akathiotou, és kosaraiknak, valamint védőmunkájuknak köszönhetően 20-20 lett az első negyed eredménye. A második negyedben vendégeink kihasználták az erősségeiket, és 12 pontos fölényt alakítottak ki a félidőre (12-24).

A palánkcsere után fej-fej mellett haladt a két csapat, azonban lányaink nem tudták megfordítani a játék menetét bármennyire is küzdöttek. A harmadik játékrész eredménye, akárcsak az elsőé 20-20 lett. A mindent eldöntő utolsó negyedben sem sikerült fordítani az eredményen, így a DVTK győzelmével ért véget a találkozó (68-80).
A mérkőzést követően vezetőedzőnk Zoran Mikes nyilatkozott: “Először is szeretnék gratulálni a Miskolcnak, megérdemelték a győzelmet. Csalódott vagyok mivel nem tudtunk végrehajtani néhány dolgot a játéktervünkből. Azt kell mondanom néhány helyzetben zavarodottak és lusták is voltunk. Ebben a versenysorozatban ilyet nem engedhetünk meg magunknak, mert a másik csapat megbünteti ezt. A Miskolcnak jó csapata van, jó a játékosok közötti kémia, és támadásban jól működtek. Nekünk védelemben tökéletesnek kellett volna lennünk, hogy megállítsuk őket, és nyerjünk.”

Vezetőedzőnk mellett Chelsea Nelson is megosztotta a meccs utáni gondolatait: “A mérkőzés alatt voltak pillanataink, amikor nagyon jól játszódtunk, de voltak hibáink, amiken dolgoznunk kell. Együtt kell legyen a csapat, és meccsről meccsre haladni. Szeretném megköszönni a szurkolóinknak, hogy eljöttek szurkolni ilyen nagy számban. Tényleg szükségünk volt ma rátok és előrelendítettétek a csapatot!”
Ellen Nyström, csapatunk legjobbja a mérkőzésen is nyilatkozott: “Mindannyian csalódottak vagyunk, mert tudjuk, hogy ennél jobban is tudunk játszani. Mélypontok és csúcspontok is voltak a játékunkban, a mélypontokat kell kiiktatni, és jobbak leszünk. Minden mérkőzéssel egyre közelebb vagyunk ehhez. Azt gondolom a ligában mindenki verhető, azonban dolgoznunk kell, hogy legyőzzük ezeket a csapatokat. Ma sajnos ez nem történt meg, jobban kell követnünk a játéktervet, többet kell kommunikálnunk. De minden mérkőzéssel jobbak leszünk.”

A DVTK HUN-Therm Miskolc vezetőedzője Völgyi Péter is értékelte a mérkőzést: “Nagyon örülök a győzelemnek, mivel a Sepsinek jó csapata van, szokja még az Euroliga légkörét. Kicsit fáradt volt a csapat, a ligában és a magyar bajnokságban is erős ellenfeleink vannak. Kányási Veronika játékára se számíthattunk ma, aki sérüléssel bajlódik, kevesebben lettünk, és a rotációnk is megváltozott. 22 eladott labdánk volt, amire nincs magyarázat, csak az ellenfelünket dicséri. Okosabban kellett volna játszanunk és akkor könnyebb is lehetett volna a mai győzelmünk. Gratulálok a csapatomnak is mivel nagyon nagy dolog egy kis csapatnak 5 győzelemmel indítani az Euroligát.”

Aho Nina is érkékelt: “Örülök, hogy nyertünk, nagyon kemény mérkőzés volt. Az elején belekeveredtünk a Sepsi játékritmusába, ez látszott is a játék képén. Azonban örülök, hogy tudtunk fejlődni mérkőzés alatt is, kapcsolni és visszatérni a saját játékunkhoz. Felismertük min kell változtatni. Csapatgyőzelem volt a mai is, hiszen többen is 10 pont fölött dobtunk, 5-0-ra állunk a szünet előtt, a folytatásban pedig meglátjuk mi lesz.”

Am găzduit echipa neînvinsă DVTK Miskolc în ultimul meci din Euroligă înainte de pauza pentru echipele naționale. Suporterii noștri au creat o atmosferă fantastică în Arena Sepsi.
Meciul a început cu un avantaj de 8-0 pentru DVTK, moment în care antrenorul nostru a solicitat o pauză de timp. După timeout, jucătoarele noastre în echipament verde-alb au început să se regăsească și să ajungă la urma miskolcienilor. Chelsea Nelson și Veatriki Akathiotou au jucat bine, iar datorită punctelor marcate și apărării lor, scorul după primul sfert a fost 20-20. În al doilea sfert, oaspeții au profitat de punctele forte și au obținut un avantaj de 12 puncte la pauză (12-24).
După pauză, cele două echipe au mers cap la cap, dar jucătoarele noastre nu au reușit să schimbe cursul jocului, chiar dacă au luptat din greu. Scorul în al treilea sfert a fost, la fel ca în primul, 20-20. În ultimul sfert, care a decis totul, nu am reușit să întoarcem rezultatul, astfel că meciul s-a încheiat cu victoria echipei DVTK (68-80).
După meci, antrenorul nostru Zoran Mikes a declarat: “În primul rând, aș vrea să felicit echipa Miskolc, au meritat victoria. Sunt dezamăgit că nu am reușit să punem în aplicare unele aspecte ale planului nostru de joc. Trebuie să recunosc că în anumite momente am fost dezorganizați și leneși. În această competiție, nu ne putem permite astfel de lucruri, pentru că adversarul va pedepsi asta. Miskolc are o echipă bună, există o chimie bună între jucători, iar în atac au funcționat bine. Trebuia să fim impecabili în apărare pentru a-i opri și a câștiga.”
În plus față de antrenorul nostru, Chelsea Nelson a împărtășit gândurile ei după meci: “În timpul meciului au fost momente când am jucat foarte bine, dar am avut și greșelile noastre asupra cărora trebuie să lucrăm. Trebuie să fim o echipă unită și să mergem mai departe meci cu meci. Vreau să mulțumesc suporterilor noștri că au venit să ne susțină într-un număr atât de mare. Ați fost cu adevărat necesari astăzi și ne-ați propulsat înainte!”
Ellen Nyström, cel mai bun jucător al echipei noastre, a oferit și ea o declarație după meci: “Suntem cu toții dezamăgiți, pentru că știm că putem juca mai bine decât asta. Am avut momente bune și momente mai slabe în jocul nostru, trebuie să eliminăm aceste momente mai slabe și vom deveni mai buni. Cu fiecare meci suntem tot mai aproape de acest obiectiv. Cred că în ligă toată lumea poate fi învinsă, dar trebuie să lucrăm din greu pentru a învinge aceste echipe. Din păcate, astăzi nu s-a întâmplat asta, trebuie să urmăm mai bine planul de joc și să comunicăm mai mult. Dar cu fiecare meci vom deveni mai buni.”
Antrenorul principal al echipei DVTK HUN-Therm Miskolc, Péter Völgyi, a comentat și el meciul: “Sunt foarte bucuros de victorie, deoarece Sepsi are o echipă bună, încă se obișnuiește cu atmosfera din Euroligă. Echipa a fost puțin obosită, avem adversari puternici în campionatul intern și în campionatul maghiar. Nu am putut conta astăzi pe jocul Veronicăi Kányási, care se confruntă cu o accidentare, astfel că am rămas cu mai puține opțiuni, iar rotația s-a schimbat. Am avut 22 de mingi pierdute, nu există explicație pentru asta, doar că îi laud pe adversarii noștri. Trebuia să jucăm mai inteligent și atunci victoria noastră de astăzi ar fi putut fi mai ușoară. Felicit echipa mea pentru această performanță, deoarece este o realizare mare pentru o echipă mică să înceapă Euroliga cu 5 victorii.”
Aho Nina a adăugat și ea: “Sunt bucuroasă că am câștigat, a fost un meci foarte greu. La început, ne-am implicat în ritmul de joc al echipei Sepsi, și asta s-a văzut în evoluția noastră. Totuși, mă bucur că am reușit să ne dezvoltăm pe parcursul meciului, să ne revenim și să revenim la propriul nostru joc. Am recunoscut ce trebuie să schimbăm. We hosted the undefeated DVTK Miskolc team in our last EuroLeague match before the national team break. Our fans created an electrifying atmosphere at the Sepsi Arena.
The match started with DVTK taking an 8-0 lead, prompting our head coach to call a timeout. Following the timeout, the green and white jerseys began to find their rhythm and catch up with Miskolc. Chelsea Nelson and Veatriki Akathiotou played well, and thanks to their baskets and defensive efforts, the first quarter ended in a tie, 20-20. In the second quarter, our guests capitalized on their strengths, establishing a 12-point lead by halftime (12-24).
After the break, the two teams played neck-and-neck, but our girls couldn’t turn the game around no matter how hard they fought. The result of the third quarter, like the first, was 20-20. In the decisive final quarter, we still couldn’t reverse the outcome, and the match ended with DVTK’s victory (68-80).
After the match, our head coach Zoran Mikes commented: ‘First of all, I want to congratulate Miskolc, they deserved the win. I’m disappointed because we couldn’t execute some things from our game plan. I have to say, at times we were confused and sluggish. We can’t afford this in this competition because the other team will punish us for it. Miskolc has a good team, good chemistry among the players, and they executed well in offense. We needed to be perfect in defense to stop them and win.’
In addition to our head coach, Chelsea Nelson also shared her post-match thoughts: ‘During the game, there were moments when we played really well, but there were mistakes we need to work on. The team needs to be united and take it one game at a time. I want to thank our fans for coming out in such large numbers. We really needed you today, and you propelled the team forward!’
Ellen Nyström, our team’s standout player, also commented on the match: “We are all disappointed because we know we can play better than this. There were highs and lows in our game, and we need to eliminate the lows to improve. With every match, we get closer to that. I believe everyone in the league is beatable, but we have to work to beat these teams. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen today. We need to stick to the game plan better, communicate more. But we will get better with every match.”
The head coach of DVTK HUN-Therm Miskolc, Péter Völgyi, also evaluated the match: “I’m very happy with the win, as Sepsi has a good team and is still getting used to the atmosphere of the EuroLeague. The team was a bit tired, facing strong opponents in both the league and the Hungarian championship. We couldn’t count on Veronika Kányási’s game today due to her injury, which left us with fewer players and changed our rotation. We had 22 turnovers, which has no explanation, it just praises our opponent. We needed to play smarter and then our win today could have been easier. Congratulations to my team as it’s a big achievement for a small team to start the EuroLeague with 5 wins.”
Nina Aho also commented: “I’m glad we won, it was a very tough match. At the beginning, we got caught up in the rhythm of Sepsi’s game, which was evident in the flow of the match. However, I’m glad we were able to improve as the match progressed, to switch gears and return to our own game. We recognized what needed to be changed. It was a team victory today, as several players scored over 10 points. We’re at 5-0 before the break, and we’ll see what happens next.”
